Office Policies

Your First Visit
office policiesAt the first visit to the orthodontist, an initial examination will be performed by
Dr. Celenza. In many cases, diagnostic records are also made to determine the best course of treatment. Complete diagnostic records typically include a medical/dental history, clinical examination, plaster study models of the teeth, photos of the patient's face and teeth, and X-rays. This information is used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient. These records are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move under orthodontic care.

Consultation
After the doctor has evaluated your records, we discuss your treatment with you in detail, including the cost for your particular case. This may occur at the time of the initial visit, or may be scheduled for a subsequent visit if more information and analysis is warranted by Dr. Celenza.

Regular Appointments
Once the appropriate course of treatment is determined, you may be scheduled to have braces placed, which typically takes an hour or so. You'll then see us at regular intervals 2 to 3 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 15 to 20 minutes. Our regular office hours are Monday 10:00 to 6:00 pm and Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, and Thursdays from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Patients are seen by appointment only, however the office is open to you and flexible so that emergencies and problems can be dealt with on short notice. We make every effort to be on time for our patients, and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us immediately. Cancel only if it is an emergency.

If Invisalign has been selected as the course of treatment, you will either have impressions taken, or be scheduled to do so. Manufacturing of Invisalign aligners typically takes 3 weeks from that time, and you will be contacted to schedule a one hour start appointment. Typically, appointment intervals thereafter are 5 weeks, and the duration of each is 15 minutes.

Please know that at your regular visits, you will be seen by Dr. Celenza in a private office setting, unlike most orthodontic practices. Dr. Celenza will make himself available to you throughout your treatment, and will oversee and manage your entire treatment. He will also be available for emergency and repair purposes as they arise. For this reason, we ask that you respect your appointments and timeliness.

Payment & Office Policies
Cost
The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. You will be able to discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, and we are very flexible with terms. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

Fees
In an effort to keep orthodontic fees down while maintaining the highest level of professional care, we have established this financial policy:

  • If full payment is made at the onset of treatment, we will offer a fee discount. To fit your individual needs, financial arrangements can be made to extend your payments over a period of months. In all cases, an initial down-payment is required at the initiation of treatment.
  • For your convenience, we accept payment by check, VISA, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
  • In cases of serious delinquency, treatment will be discontinued, although we will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
Insurance
If you have insurance, we will file the claims on your behalf and provide any documentation you may need. We do not accept assignment of insurance directly, but we will help in every way we can in filing your claim and handling insurance questions from our office on your behalf. You are responsible for payment to us, and your insurance company will reimburse you.
